Treibhauseffekt

The Treibhauseffekt (greenhouse effect) is the process by which radiation from a planet’s atmosphere warms the planet’s surface to higher temperature as normal. Radiatively active gases in a planet’s atmosphere radiate energy. Part of this radiation is directed towards the surface, thus warming it. The temperature rises in daytime and in the night it cooles down (Landscape painting in the dark).
